miseratio, mĭsĕrātĭo, ōnis, f. miseror, a pitying, pity, compassion, commiseration (class.). Lit.: cum quādam miseratione delectare, Cic. Fam. 5, 12, 5: miserationem commovere, Quint. 6, 1, 46: miseratione mens judicum permovenda, Cic. Or. 38, 131: miserationem petere, i. e. to pray for pity and forgiveness, Plin. 9, 8, 10, § 33: infantis, Just. 7, 2.
